April 13, 2019
The Chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation stated that the upcoming World Forum for the Culture of Peace, which will be held on the 13th of June at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, under the title "Teaching the Culture of Peace," will focus on safeguarding the world's cultural heritage. This topic is of utmost importance today, given the devastation caused to this heritage by wars, resulting in the loss of the historical identity of ancient civilizations and erasing entire aspects from the cultural landscape.
Albabtain emphasized that the current approach adopted by the Foundation to preserve this heritage will initially involve the integration of 17 educational curricula about peace into the educational system, from preschool to university level. This initiative aims to disseminate the culture of peace in a scientific and well-studied manner, as it is considered an essential culture that should be deeply rooted in the thinking and behavior of future generations.
The Foundation is planning to collaborate with international institutions to protect cultural heritage, making this Forum a unique platform for discussing these important issues.
