"Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Academy for Arabic Poetry" to Launch Next Saturday.

January 18, 2017

Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Cultural Foundation has established the "Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain Academy for Arabic Poetry." Its inaugural session is set to commence next Saturday (January 21, 2017) at the Albabtain Central Library for Arab Poetry. The Academy's first session will continue until the third of February.

It is noteworthy that the Academy offers its lessons free of charge and is open to students aged between twelve and fifteen years old. The curriculum covers various subjects such as "The History and Impact of Poetry," "Prosody," "Poetry Reading," and "The Art of Recitation." Distinguished instructors for this course include Dr. Abdullah Ghalis, poet Abdullah Al-Felkawi, recitation coach Nora Al-Qamlas, and Salem Al-Rumaidhi. Upon completing the course, students will receive a certificate confirming their enrollment in the Academy.

Abdulaziz Saud Albabtain emphasized that the establishment of this academy is part of the Foundation's endeavor to enhance the status of Arabic poetry among the generations. This is due to the fact that Arabic poetry is a vital source of the Arabic language, which the Foundation has been dedicated to promoting over time, both within the Arab world and beyond. This commitment is reflected through various initiatives, including courses and academic chairs established for this purpose.
